The effects of linear, nonlinear, and differential motor learning methods on the emergence of creative action in individual soccer players

The purpose of this study was to compare the effects linear (LP), nonlinear (NLP), and differential (DL) motor learning methods on emergence creative actions in soccer. Sixty-six novice players were randomly allocated one three groups, which practiced soccer skills for months, according different methods. In LP-group, attention focused acquiring movement patterns largely through prescriptive instructions feedback frequent repetitions. By contrast, NLP-group, aim guide players’ search solutions. This done by manipulating task constraints induce practice variability. Finally, DL-group, again used, but now maximize random variation patterns. Behavioral analysis after three-month training showed that number (i.e., variability) highest followed whereas LP-group lowest actions.
